Herbal Foundations
The Elemental Journey Around the Sun (Weekend 2)
May 16–17, 2026
Saturday & Sunday | 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM
Ashland, Oregon
This second weekend of The Elemental Journey Around the Sun grounds students in the essential foundations of herbal medicine.
While the first weekend opens the elemental arc through Spring and the Wood element, this immersion focuses on building practical literacy — giving students the core frameworks needed to understand how herbs function within the body and within the greater patterns of nature.
Weekend Focus
Foundations of herbal energetics
Introduction to botany and plant structure
Understanding herbal actions and classifications
How herbal flavors, actions, and energetics influence the body
Building a foundational materia medica
Developing a deeper relationship with plants through observation and experience
This weekend bridges philosophy and practice, helping students move beyond memorization into comprehension — learning not just what an herb does, but why.
As with all sessions in this program, learning unfolds through hands-on exploration, shared meals, dialogue, and immersion in land and apothecary spaces.
